An Aromatherapy Bubble Bath

Bubble baths are a wonderful way to relax, and you can combine bubble baths and Aromatherapy for a wonderfully scented and enjoyable experience. You can create your own fragrant bubble baths by using essential oils of your choice and adding them to 1 ounce of your bubble bath base. You can purchase a base for bubble bath at an herbal store.

Aromatherapy allows you the luxury of enjoying your own scents as well as mixing and matching other scents. Essential oils are used to create your scents. These oils are the volatile oils of plants and should never be used full strength. It is also important to check each oil before you use it for any safety precautions as well as for skin sensitivities and allergies. You can test an oil for a skin reaction by applying a drop of the oil to the nape of the neck. If after fourteen hours, you have had no reaction, then you can assume that you are not allergic to the oil and use it safely.

You can create aromatic bubble baths that are floral based such as Rose or Gardenia. Or if you prefer a more exotic scent, you can use a blend of Patchouli and Jasmine. Frankincense is a wonderfully sensual scent that is delightful with Cedarwood. You may even want to keep track of the blends that you use for your bubble baths; in case you find a mix that is so pleasant that you want to use it again.

You can use oils for their medicinal and healing properties as well. There are many herbs that will help fight infection, colds, flu, and soothe sore and tired muscles. Eucalyptus, Lavender, and Myrrh all have wonderful healing properties.

If you are pregnant, you may relish the idea of taking an Aromatherapy Bubble bath. However many essential herbs are not safe for use when you are pregnant. Make sure that you read the labels and choose your oils very carefully. In fact some herbs will promote the flow of menstruation and are so strong, they may actually lead to miscarriage, so for the health and safety of your baby, do not use essential oils unwisely.

When you enjoy your bubble bath, you can create a wonderfully peaceful environment by adding beautiful music, such as nature sounds, or ocean waves, or instrumental music and burn aromatherapy candles as well. Make sure that the scent that you choose for your candles will compliment or enhance the scent used with your bubble bath.

It is important that you take the time to relax fully in your aromatic bath. Take the phone off the hook, lock the door, and tell the kids that you are not to be disturbed. This is your time to pamper and nourish yourself, to release stress and tension, and to focus on your relaxation. It may seem selfish at first, but this is the most important thing that you can do for the sake of your health and peace of mind.
