Your doctor also needs to known the location of the pain and how often the pain occurs. It is also important to let your doctor know what makes your pain better or worse. There may be other medical factors that your doctor may wish to review to see if they have any relevance to your current pain issue. Understanding the answers to these questions helps the doctor to fully understand how the pain hinders coping ability.
