Relying On FaithTo some individuals, their faith means everything. They place all that they can into God's hands and feel that that is the best way that they can live their lives. While it can't hurt to have a good dose of faith, those who forego medical treatment in favor of placing the responsibility of healing from illness in God's hands are often making a critical error. In this article, we'll examine the issue of spiritual healing when it comes to helping an individual to heal from a type of illness. You hear about it in the news all too often. An individual feels that their child's health problem is most easily solved by causing God to bestow his will upon the child. It is a controversial issue of ethics, but one needs to view things realistically when it comes to spiritual healing. There have been many individuals that have come into the public eye over time who have claimed to be able to heal the sick and the incurable by invoking the power of God, and time and time again, these people are proven to be frauds. Folks like evangelists Benny Hinn and Peter Popoff are prime examples of televangelists who prey on people's faith, earning them millions but leaving the individuals that they claim to help suffering from the same illnesses as they had before they had visited. A man by the name of James Randi hopes to put an end to the quackery of spiritual healing once and for all. He has made a public statement that he is willing to put one million of his own dollars on the line in order to prove or disprove the existence of spiritual healing. Anyone who can clearly show that they possess a type of miraculous healing power is able to take the money, and to date, no one has been successful in providing evidence. Studies continue to pour in regarding the efficiency of spiritual healing, and they consistently show that the practice offers a placebo benefit, if any benefit at all. Practitioners of spiritual healing state that since their practice is 'of another world', it is unable to be sufficiently proven within the realm of the scientific study. That should be a clear sign for anybody who is considering the practice that it may not be the right solution when it comes to getting over the problems that they are experiencing. It is unfortunate to know that many of the spiritual healers out there are merely perpetrating a hoax that has been used time and time again throughout history. When you are sick and the doctors don't have any idea how to cure what ails you, you can get desperate and turn to methodologies that are less than recommended. While faith healing may be useful in helping you to feel better about yourself, there is no clinical evidence that it is useful in curing any sort of disease or ailment. To that end, you should do your best to research any type of alternative medicine that you may be considering in order to be sure that you are not getting hoaxed.
