This will control the gap between the upper and lower stomach.

There are several advantages and dis-advantages to the non-adjustable gastric banding procedure. Those who get this done are known to have shorter hospital stays and not as many side effects. However, because the band is not adjustable, it may also cause complications. It is easier for the band to slip or erode in the stomach.
